What Rust blackjack is
You against the dealer, played with site coins. Get closer to 21 than the dealer without going over. This is not the card table inside the Rust game.
How a hand works
Bet
From 0.50 coins with no maximum. One hand at a time.
The deal
Two cards each from a 6 deck shoe. One dealer card stays face down.
Your move
Hit, stand, double or split until you stand or pass 21.
Dealer plays
The dealer draws to 17 and also hits a soft 17. Higher total wins.
What each result pays
Table rules
Double
Only on your first two cards, with a total of 9, 10 or 11. Not after a split.
Split
Two cards of equal value, once per hand. The second hand costs one more bet.
No insurance
The side bet against a dealer ace is not offered.
Basic strategy in six moves
Hard 17 or more
Against any dealer card.
13 to 16, dealer shows 2 to 6
Let the dealer draw into a bust.
12 to 16, dealer shows 7 or more
Standing loses more often than drawing.
11, and 10 against 2 to 9
The two totals where a double pays best.
Aces and 8s
Always. Two 8s make 16, the worst total at the table.
10s and 5s
20 is already strong, and two 5s are a 10 to double on.

Questions players ask
What is a soft 17?
A hand that reaches 17 with an ace counted as 11, such as ace and 6. The dealer draws another card on it.
Do a king and a queen count as a pair?
Yes. Any two cards worth 10 can be split, whatever their faces are.
Can I bet skins at the blackjack table?
No. Blackjack is played with coins from your balance only.
